“I’ve never met a parent who doesn’t care about their children’s education. It’s the assumptions we make when families don’t show up to school in the way we might traditionally expect they would.”
Last year, some volunteer tutors in Madison public schools were having trouble relating to some of the students they were tutoring.
In response, we developed a three-part training series to help the tutors become more aware of who they are as they move throughout the world and become aware of their biases and assumptions so that they can limit the assumptions they act upon with kids.
Intro/Outro music by MicroSchool students Cheviest and Montevious.
Other music by Ryan Aranda.
